Scapia Credit Card Benefits in 2026: Fees, Rewards, Lounge and Forex Rules

Looking up Scapia credit card benefits in November 2026? The Federal Bank Scapia Credit Card is a co-branded, dual-line card (Visa + RuPay on one limit and one statement) sold through the Scapia app. Federal Bank’s Key Fact Sheet and Most Important Terms & Conditions (version 11, dated 30 Apr 2026) list nil joining fee, nil annual membership fee and 0% foreign currency mark-up. Rewards come as Scapia Coins you redeem on travel inside the Scapia app — not as statement cashback.

We read Federal Bank’s Scapia product page, the KFS/MITC PDFs and Scapia’s own card explainer on 6 Nov 2026. Every fee and rate below comes from those documents (see Sources). This is not financial advice: banks change terms, merchant category codes decide rewards, and Federal Bank alone decides whether you get the card and at what limit. For side-by-side options, see our credit cards page, the Tata Neu Plus vs Infinity guide and Swiggy HDFC benefits.

Quick answer

Worth applying if you want a lifetime-free travel card with 0% forex mark-up, dual Visa + RuPay lines, and rewards you can burn on flights, hotels and buses inside the Scapia app. Treat the headline “10%” carefully: rewards convert to Scapia Coins at 5 coins = ₹1 on Scapia travel, so eligible Visa spends are roughly 2% in redemption value (and Scapia-app travel bookings can earn 20% coins, about 4%). Airport privileges (lounge or dining/shopping/spa) unlock only after about ₹20,000 spend in the preceding billing cycle. Fuel, rent, wallet loads and several other categories earn nothing. Approval, limit and final terms are decided only by Federal Bank.

Interest-free grace periodUp to 48 days (if you clear the full bill)
Revolving credit interest45% p.a. (3.75% per month) from the transaction date

Cash advance / ATM fee2.5% of amount or ₹500, whichever is higher
Card reissue / replacement₹200 + GST (primary and add-on)
Cash withdrawal limitUp to 10% of the credit limit

Federal Bank also lists a 1% fuel surcharge waiver on fuel transactions up to ₹5,000 (max waiver ₹500 a month). Fuel spends over ₹50,000 in a month attract a 1% + GST convenience fee (max ₹3,000 per transaction). The same convenience-fee pattern applies to utility spends over ₹50,000 a month. Rent payments and wallet loads attract a 1% + GST convenience fee (max ₹3,000 per transaction). Overlimit charges are 2.5% of the excess, subject to a minimum of ₹500.

Late payment charges are tiered by statement balance in the KFS: ₹0 under ₹100, ₹100 for ₹100–₹500, ₹500 for ₹501–₹5,000, ₹600 for ₹5,001–₹10,000, ₹750 for ₹10,001–₹25,000, ₹950 for ₹25,001–₹50,000, and ₹1,000 above ₹50,000. GST applies on fees and interest. Paying only the minimum due keeps interest running — the “free” card stops being free the moment you revolving-credit a balance.

Scapia Coins: earn rates and real value

SpendHeadline rewardRough value at 5 coins = ₹1
Eligible Visa spends (₹20+)10% as Scapia Coins~2% when redeemed on Scapia travel
Eligible RuPay / UPI spends (above ₹500)5% as Scapia Coins~1% when redeemed on Scapia travel
Travel purchases on the Scapia app20% as Scapia Coins~4% when redeemed on Scapia travel

Federal Bank’s Scapia page states 10% reward on every eligible online and offline Visa spend, and 5% on eligible UPI, online and offline RuPay spends of ₹500 or more, with instant redemption on flights, hotels and buses in the Scapia app at 1 reward = 1 Scapia Coin. Scapia’s card explainer adds that coins redeem at a fixed 5 coins = ₹1, with no minimum redemption threshold and the option to cover up to 100% of a booking with coins. That is why the “10%” headline is closer to a 2% travel rebate if you actually burn the coins on Scapia — and why the card fits people who will book travel there, not people who want cashback on every bill.

You get two lines on one account: Visa for everyday and international use, RuPay for UPI-on-credit. Both share one credit limit and one monthly statement. Rewards convert to Scapia Coins on the statement date. Fractional credits on small Visa spends are common, so don’t expect perfect percentage maths on tiny tickets.

What earns nothing (and what costs extra)

Scapia’s own exclusions list (read 6 Nov 2026) says you do not earn coins on: Visa spends under ₹20; RuPay spends under ₹500; EMIs; Scapia card bill payments; fuel; late fees or other card charges; rent; ATM cash withdrawals; forex transactions; e-wallet loads; crypto; education and school fees; gift cards; insurance premiums; and utility & telecom bills above ₹20,000 a month. Federal Bank’s Card Holder Agreement also calls out money transfers, credit-card repayments and MCC-based ineligible categories — always check the latest agreement before you plan a big “reward” spend.

Two gotchas matter for travellers. First, international / forex spends get 0% mark-up but usually earn no coins — great for paying abroad cheaply, not for farming rewards on foreign spend. Second, rent and wallet loads can attract the 1% + GST convenience fee in the KFS, on top of earning nothing. If rent, fuel or school fees dominate your spend, compare other cards on our credit cards page.

Airport privileges and lounge unlock

Federal Bank’s Scapia page describes airport privileges as unlocking unlimited domestic lounge, complimentary dining, shopping or spa when you spend ₹20,000 every preceding month. Scapia’s explainer frames the same idea as a choice at domestic airports: complimentary lounge access, or eligible spend reimbursed in Scapia Coins at a restaurant, store or spa — up to about ₹1,000 at metro airports and ₹500 at smaller ones — after ₹20,000 spend in the preceding billing cycle. Privileges activate around the next statement, and Scapia says you must activate in the app before you pay at the airport (it is not retroactive).

Scapia also markets international-terminal dining/shopping rewards tied to booking an international flight on the app; the exact unlock amount has been stated differently across Scapia pages, so treat that as something to confirm in-app on the day you fly. Lounge lists, QR entry and guest rules change — generate the pass from the Scapia app and carry your boarding pass. If you rarely hit ₹20,000 on this card, don’t buy it only for lounges.

Eligibility and how to apply

What Federal Bank lists
CitizenshipResident Indian citizen
Salaried age21 to 65 years
Self-employed age25 to 65 years
Other criteriaAs per the bank’s credit-card onboarding policy (income / bureau rules not published as a fixed number on the product page)

Onboarding is fully digital on the Scapia app: Federal Bank says the virtual card can be activated immediately and the physical card typically reaches you in 2–5 days. Statements and dues live in the app; the KFS says you can pay by UPI, net banking or NEFT/IMPS from the Scapia app. Customer care numbers listed there include 1800-296-1199 (and 0484-6925000 when calling from abroad), with email [email protected].

Scapia’s explainer also mentions up to 3 add-on cards for eligible family members at no joining/annual fee (matching the KFS “Nil” add-on fee). The primary cardholder sets limits. The Apply Now button above opens Scapia’s application journey through our partner network. Check the fee, variant and terms shown in that journey before you submit — Federal Bank decides approval and credit limit.

Simple maths: who actually comes out ahead?

These examples use only the stated earn rates and the 5 coins = ₹1 redemption Scapia publishes. They ignore caps you may hit later, excluded MCCs, taxes and missed lounge unlocks — treat them as a rough guide, not a promise of savings.

  • ₹30,000 a month of eligible Visa spends, redeemed on Scapia travel: about 3,000 coins → roughly ₹600 of travel value (~2%), or around ₹7,200 a year if you keep redeeming.
  • ₹10,000 of that spend moved to Scapia-app hotels/flights at 20%: about ₹400 on that slice alone (~4%), plus ~2% on the remaining eligible Visa spend.
  • ₹25,000 foreign spend on a trip: 0% mark-up vs a typical 2–3.5% on many cards can save ₹500–₹875 in mark-up — even though those spends usually earn no coins.

Rule of thumb: Scapia fits if you will redeem on Scapia travel (or value zero forex), and if you can occasionally clear ₹20,000 when you want airport privileges. If you want cashback on Swiggy or Tata brands instead, read our Swiggy HDFC and Tata Neu guides.

Who should get it (and who should skip)

  • Good fit: frequent domestic travellers who already like (or are willing to use) the Scapia app for flights, hotels and buses; people who want a fee-free RuPay + Visa pair; overseas spenders who hate forex mark-up.
  • Maybe: light spenders who just want a no-fee backup card — fine, as long as you pay in full and don’t expect lounge access every month.
  • Skip / compare elsewhere: if most of your spend is rent, fuel, school fees or wallet loads; if you refuse to redeem inside Scapia; if you need guaranteed lounge access without a ₹20,000 cycle. Whatever you pick, pay the full statement by the due date. A 45% p.a. revolving rate will erase years of coin farming in a single unpaid cycle. Re-read Federal Bank’s KFS/MITC and Scapia’s in-app screens before you apply or spend big.

Frequently asked questions

What are the Scapia credit card benefits in 2026?

Federal Bank lists nil joining and annual fees, 0% forex mark-up, and rewards redeemable on Scapia travel. Eligible Visa spends earn 10% as Scapia Coins; eligible RuPay/UPI spends above ₹500 earn 5%; Scapia-app travel can earn 20%. Airport privileges unlock after about ₹20,000 spend in the preceding billing cycle.

Is the Federal Bank Scapia credit card lifetime free?

Federal Bank’s KFS/MITC (version 11, 30 Apr 2026) list joining fees and annual membership fees as Nil, and add-on joining/annual fees as Nil. Other charges (cash advance, late payment, replacement, convenience fees on rent/wallet and so on) still apply.

What is the real value of Scapia Coins?

Scapia states 5 Scapia Coins = ₹1 when you redeem on travel in the Scapia app, and you can cover up to 100% of a booking. So a 10% Visa earn is about 2% in travel value, and a 20% Scapia-app travel earn is about 4%, if you actually redeem that way.

Does the Scapia credit card give free lounge access?

Federal Bank ties unlimited domestic lounge (or complimentary dining/shopping/spa) to spending ₹20,000 in the preceding month/billing cycle. It is not an unconditional free lounge card. Activate the privilege in the Scapia app before airport spend.

Does Scapia have zero forex mark-up?

Yes. Federal Bank’s KFS lists foreign currency mark-up as 0% (Nil). Forex transactions typically do not earn Scapia Coins, even though there is no mark-up.

What is the Scapia credit card eligibility?

Federal Bank’s Scapia page lists resident Indian citizens; salaried applicants aged 21–65; self-employed applicants aged 25–65; plus other criteria under the bank’s credit-card onboarding policy. A fixed minimum income is not published on that product page. Approval is Federal Bank’s decision.
